LUBBOCK- The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service will be holding its 2019 Commercial Turf and Ornamental Workshop on Feb. 15 at the AgriLife Extension office in Lubbock.
The workshop will be held at the first-floor auditorium of the AgriLife Extension office from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m., with day-of registration starting at 8:30 a.m. The registration fee covers the course, CEUs and a catered lunch.
The workshop will offer five Texas Department of Agriculture pesticide applicator continuing education units. The cost is $35 if preregistered by 5 p.m. on Feb. 1, or $45 at the door.

“Although the talks will be targeted to professionals holding commercial pesticide applicators licenses, the information is useful for anyone who manages plants or a landscape,” said Christina Reid, AgriLife Extension horticulture agent, Lubbock County. “This will benefit everyone from homeowners to lawn and landscape care professionals and ag and horticulture specialists.”
Topics covered will include:
- Managing rose rosette disease in the landscape.
- Turfgrass management for West Texas.
- New laws and regulations for pesticide applicators.
- Managing entomosporium leaf spot.
- Herbicide resistant weeds in the landscape.
